Resuscitation and AED
Mrázek, Petr ; Kolářová, Jana (referee) ; Chmelař, Milan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the techniques of resuscitation as well as its history and advanced options. First aid is mentioned only marginally because it isn’t the main purpose of this study. Recommendations for resuscitation are changed every 5 years. Therefore the texts are primarily based on the recommendations of the Guidelines 2010. Other chapters and subchapters focus on the effects of electrical currents on human tissues and on the closely related topic of defibrillators. The automated external defibrillator (AED) is described in more detail due to the assignment of this thesis. It also includes a description of the defibrillation pulse generator and the teaching presentation which describes the AED resuscitation procedure.
The first aid system controlled by computer
Příhoda, Vratislav ; Rampl, Ivan (referee) ; Chmelař, Milan (advisor)
Human life is too precious to be lost. The rules of the first aid are not complicated. The knowledge of resuscitation is the basic principle of the first aid. You don't need only theoretical knowledge to do the right resuscitation. It is necessary to have a some practical experience. The experience of resuscitation is possible to get on a tutorial trainer manikin. This work considers a concept of system for analysing training of resuscitation by using computer. The first part of this thesis describes the right process of resuscitation by guidelines of European Resuscitation Council for Resuscitation 2005. The other part deals with possible ways of monitoring the correct procedure of instant resuscitation and the most common mistakes made by trainees during the training, are described in the following parts of this work. Component part of this thesis is summary of available resuscitation models. Last part is dedicated to the design of hardware and software for rating quality of resuscitation process. Resuscitation trainer manikin AmbuMAN from the company Ambu was also used. Among others contains "first aid" test as well.

Žáková, Jana ; Průšová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Hromádková, Jaroslava (referee)
The present Bachelor thesis ,,The analysis of nurses' knowledge in resuscitation of newborn", focuses on the evaluation of the level of knowledge of nurses working in neonatal wards and delivery rooms. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a comprehensive overview of information on the classification of the newborn, conditions requiring resuscitation, postpartum adaptation and the first treatment of the newborn. The theoretical part of the thesis deals in detail with the procedure of neonatal resuscitation and post-resuscitation care according to the latest recommendations of the European and Czech Resuscitation Council. The aim of the empirical part of the thesis is to compare the obtained analysis of the knowledge of nurses of selected specialist departments, namely Thomayer Hospital and Bulovka Hospital. The method for obtaining data was a quantitative research using a questionnaire of own construction, which had 26 closed questions. Of these, 20 were aimed at verifying the knowledge of nurses in neonatal wards and delivery rooms. 120 questionnaires were distributed and the return rate was 81.66%, thus 98 questionnaires were analyzed. The results of the research showed statistically significant difference only according to...
First aid knowledge and skills of pupils in elementary schools - cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Ročková, Lenka ; Kuba, Radim (advisor) ; Nodžáková, Kateřina (referee)
This thesis focuses on teaching first aid to elementary school students with an emphasis on resuscitation procedures. First aid and resuscitation, in particular, are crucial skills for saving lives in critical situations. Although first aid education is a part of school programs, it often remains limited to theoretical explanations, which can hinder students' ability to react practically. The presented study highlights the significance of practical training and experiential pedagogy in first aid education. We conducted a survey among pupils of the second stage of elementary school (N=142), consisting of two main parts. In the questionnaire section, pupils evaluated the difficulty of various tasks related to resuscitation and answered questions focused on theoretical knowledge. In the second part, pupils demonstrated resuscitation on an electronic training model. The conducted research confirmed that theoretical knowledge often does not translate into the ability to perform necessary tasks in practice. Pupils faced the greatest difficulties with tasks involving rescue breathing, but deficiencies were also observed in achieving the correct compression frequency and depth. Based on the obtained results, didactic recommendations were proposed, which can be implemented into first aid education for...

Methods: The collection of data was done by means of online survey. The questionnaire was created with the help of Google Forms software and subsequently distributed through the website Facebook. 62 students of FTVS UK and 67 students of FSV UK filled out the questionnaire. After the data were collected they were downloaded as Microsoft Excel file and subsequently encoded and statistically analysed. The Microsoft Excel software was used to compute arithmetic mean and standard deviation, mode, median, maximum and minimum of subsamples. The software RStudio was used to test for differences between the samples and to test for normality of data distribution. Mann-Whitney U test was used to test...
Newborn Care Safety from Mothers' Perspective
HIPPMANNOVÁ, Sonja
Current Status: The need of safety and security is one of the basic needs of a newborn. The nurses' role is to assess the level of education need in a newborn baby care and educate the mother accordingly, using a suitable method. The aim of the research was to assess the level of knowledge of mothers in a newborn care safety in home environment. Methodology: The study used quantitative method of research, using the technique of non-standardized survey. The selection of the respondents was intentional. The focus group were mothers of physiological newborns (N=300), that gave birth in Hospital in Jablonec nad Nisou between 15.11. 2020 and 30.1.2021. Results: Approximately half of the respondents (52 %) claimed that the benefit of postpartum bonding between a mother and her newborn is promotion of creation of breast milk. Only 45 % of respondents claimed that they wash their hands longer than 30 seconds and less than 1/5 of all respondents follow all six steps of proper hand washing. Less than half of the respondents (45 %) consider sleeping position on stomach or side of a newborn as a risk factor of SIDS. More than half of the respondents (60 %) knew how to resuscitate a newborn. The share of mothers in age category between 18-25 who answered wrong questions asking about CPR of a newborn was statistically significantly greater (p = 0,035) than share of mothers in higher age category. Respondents whose postpartum hospitalization lasted more than 72 hours claimed greater satisfaction with education in breast care statistically significantly more often (p = 0,029) than mothers hospitalized for shorter time. Respondents with primary level of education answered wrong questions asking about manipulation with a baby on a changing table statistically significantly more often (p = 0,046) than mothers with higher levels of education. Mothers having a fourth baby answered correctly question if blisters are a symptom of omphalitis, statistically significantly more often than mothers with less children (p = 0,014). Conclusion and Utilisation in Practice: Based on results of the research was created educational material "At Home with a Newborn Baby. A Few Handy Tips".
Early cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation in South Bohemia with a usage of a first aid on demand
ALDORFOVÁ, Lucie
In the first part of the thesis, I describe the concept of sudden cardiac arrest and also the important chain of survival. I also define the procedure for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation. Last but not least, I focus on automated external defibrillators in terms of availability in the Czech Republic and abroad. Here I also describe operating and identification of defibrillators. In the last chapter, I analyse First responders in the South Bohemian Region and abroad. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to determine the use of First responders in the South Bohemian Region, the use of public access automated external defibrillators and to determine the success of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation of First responders in the South Bohemian Region using the automated external defibrillators. To achieve these aims, three research questions have been set. The research part was conducted as a qualitative research based on semi-structured interviews which consisted of fifteen questions. The research group consisted of six First responders from among the professional and volunteer firefighters, police force and members of the Mountain and Water Rescue Service. All interviews took place in April 2021. In the first phase of the research, the research requests were sent out to people in higher positions on given work places. After approval, I was provided with contacts to randomly selected First responders, with whom an interview was conducted after a contact. Due to the current pandemic situation, all interviews were conducted over a recorded call; all participants were informed about the recording and agreed. With all interviews being carried out, they were subsequently transcribed and recordings deleted. The processing and evaluation of the research followed. The research provided answers to all set objectives and addressed all research questions. It was found that the use of First responders in the South Bohemian Region is really large. At the same time it was also found that the public access automated external defibrillators do not have such a success. The research also showed that the success or failure of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation of First responders using the automated external defibrillators cannot be conclusively determined.
